Direct Access

Members of the Public can now instruct a barrister directly, without going through a solicitor. This can sometimes mean that it works out cheaper if all you need is for a barrister to carry out advocacy or advisory work, or to give you a steer as to how to litigate your case. In some cases, a solicitor will still be necessary, but in cases where you are able to conduct your own litigation, it may well be significantly cheaper for you to instruct me directly.

I accept instructions from members of the public in all of my practice areas. I will usually offer a free telephone consultation to consider whether your case is suitable for direct instruction.

I am now accredited by the Bar Standards Board to provide training to barristers who wish to qualify to take cases under the Bar Direct Public Access scheme. Regular courses are run, details of which can be found on the dedicated page at www.barristersdirect.co.uk, or alternatively for larger groups the course can be provided at a convenient location.
